Since 2004, we’ve been handcrafting bath and body care right here in Colorado. We care about what goes into our products because we use them ourselves, share them with our families, and make them for you.
We want you to feel comfortable asking what’s in your favorite lotion or where we get the sunflower oil in your bath bomb. We’re proud of what we make, and we’re happy to share what goes into it.
Below, you’ll find an introduction to the ingredients we use most often. Every recipe is different, so please check the individual product page for its complete ingredient list.
Bath
We started making bath bombs shortly after founding SALUS and have spent years getting our recipes just right. We’re proud to be The Most Trusted Name in Bath Bombs®, and we put that experience into every batch.
We make our personal size bath bombs to moisturize and nourish your skin, along with giving you the fizz and scent you love.
Our recipe starts with Colorado sourced, naturally aluminum free baking soda and food grade citric acid. We add sunflower oil grown in Lamar, Colorado, without genetic modification, along with organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter, cornstarch, sugar, and sea salt.
Those oils and butters are a big part of what makes a SALUS bath feel so good. We want you to step out of the tub with soft, moisturized skin.
We make our personal size bath bombs without dyes or sulfates. Our scented varieties include pure essential oils or fragrance oils made without phthalates.
If you prefer no added scent, our Unscented Bath Bomb gives you a rich, moisturizing bath without added fragrance.
Our milk baths, bubbles, Tub Taffy®, Bath Bomb Geodes, and other bath products each have their own recipes. Our decorated geodes, for example, may include mica and natural mineral pigments. You’ll find the ingredients for each one on its product page.
Shower and Soap
Handcrafted Bar Soap
Our bar soaps start with high oleic sunflower oil grown right here in Lamar, Colorado. We blend it with organic shea butter, castor oil, organic coconut oil, and organic palm oil certified by the RSPO.
We pour, cut, and cure our artisan bars in small batches. We take our time with them because we love a good bar of soap: one with a rich, creamy lather that leaves your skin feeling clean and soft.
Our Colorado Snow Handcrafted Soap is our unscented bar. We make it with Colorado grown sunflower oil, organic shea butter, castor oil, organic coconut oil, organic RSPO certified palm oil, water, and sodium hydroxide. We add no fragrance.

Shower Bombs
We’ve been making shower bombs for years, bringing a little of the experience we love about bath time into the shower.
Our shower bombs activate when water touches them, releasing scent into the warm shower air. If you enjoy a softer scent, choose one of our lighter varieties. If you love a stronger shower experience, try Respiratory Sinus or Eucalyptus.
We start with Colorado sourced, naturally aluminum free baking soda, citric acid, and sugar. Depending on the variety, we add pure essential oils or fragrance oils made without phthalates. Each product page lists the ingredients for that particular scent.
Washes, Scrubs, and Whipped Soaps
We make our washes, scrubs, and whipped soaps with their own blends of cleansing and moisturizing ingredients. Some offer gentle exfoliation, while others are all about a creamy lather. You’ll find the complete formula on each product page.
Body
Some days, your skin needs a little moisture. Other days, it needs quite a bit more. We make a range of lotions and creams so you can find what feels best.
For a lighter moisturizer, try our Aloe Lotion. For very dry skin, our Silky Shea gives you a richer option. Depending on the recipe, we use ingredients such as goat’s milk, aloe, shea butter, cocoa butter, kukui nut oil, and grapeseed oil.
Many of our body oils, body sprays, mists, and roll ons can also be custom scented when you order. Choose a scent you already love or let us help you find something new. If you prefer a solid fragrance, try one of our solid colognes.
Natural Deodorant
We make our Natural Deodorant Sticks with organic beeswax, kukui nut oil, organic cocoa butter, organic shea butter, organic coconut oil, locally sourced baking soda, and arrowroot powder.
All of our Natural Deodorant Sticks are made without aluminum, parabens, or glycols. Our Unscented version contains no added fragrance.
Foot Care
We know how good it feels to give tired feet a little attention. Our foot care products have their own recipes, and some include arnica, menthol, peppermint, or eucalyptus. Check each product page for its ingredients and directions.
The Original Muscle Relief Gel
Our Muscle Relief Gel began with a personal need.
As a Marine and an endurance athlete, our founder, Jerèll, knew the aches that could follow a long day of biking or running. While training for and racing the Leadville Trail 100, he wanted a topical product he enjoyed using on his own body, with a cooling sensation he could feel right away and a formula he felt good about sharing with others. That’s why he developed our Original Muscle Relief Gel.
We worked through about 30 revisions, adjusting the ingredients and the balance of cooling and warmth. Along the way, friends and people we’d just met tried it and told us what they thought. Their feedback helped us get the formula just right.
Three ingredients were central to that process: menthol, capsaicin, and arnica montana. Menthol gives the gel its cooling sensation. Capsaicin adds warmth, and we took particular care to find the balance we wanted. Arnica is part of our botanical blend, alongside organic aloe and essential oils, including peppermint and eucalyptus.
From the beginning, we wanted to make our gel without parabens, petroleum based ingredients, lanolin, waxes, or paraffins. Making it in the USA and avoiding animal testing were priorities throughout its development.
This has always been personal to us. We made our gel with athletes, service members, and people dealing with everyday aches in mind. We know how much it matters to keep doing the things you enjoy, because it matters to us, too.

Lips and Face
Lip Conditioners
We make our lip conditioners with organic beeswax and a blend of plant butters and oils to keep your lips feeling soft and moisturized.
Our base contains organic beeswax, organic cocoa butter, shea oil, sunflower oil grown without genetic modification, castor oil, organic jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, and vitamin E.
For our unflavored version, we leave that recipe without added flavor. For our flavored varieties, we simply add natural flavor oils.
Facial Care
Our facial cleansers, serums, and moisturizers each have their own formulas. We list the ingredients on their individual pages so you can choose what works for your skin. If you need help deciding, please ask us.
WholeMade® CBD
WholeMade® is our CBD brand. We bring the same care to these products that we bring to everything we make at SALUS.
We start with our bath and body formulas, then add cannabidiol, also known as CBD. We include it in the ingredient list and identify the amount in each product.

How Scent Works in Our Shop
Helping you find a scent you love is one of our favorite parts of what we do.
We offer more than 100 scent options. Many can be mixed and matched in our customizable products, giving you thousands of possible combinations. You can keep it simple with one favorite or create a blend that’s your own.
Essential Oils
Our essential oils come from plants and bring their distinctive aromas to our products. They give many of our herbal, botanical, and citrus scents their character.
Fragrance Oils
Our fragrance oils give us room to offer everything from fruits and florals to warm, cozy favorites. Every fragrance oil we use is made without phthalates and selected for use in the product we’re making.
Your Product, Your Scent
Some of our products come already scented. Our Customize Me products let you choose your scents when you order, and we make them fresh for you. Many also have an unscented option.

Without Added Scent
We offer many of our products without added fragrance, scenting essential oils, or flavoring. You may still notice a mild aroma from the oils, butters, or other ingredients in the recipe.
